i'm trying to cut a void in my roof? wat tool should I use?

Depends on the roof and what kind of void you need. Flat roof - include the "void" in the roof sketch. Sloping roof - does the void go perpindicular to the roof or the ground? For perpindicular to the ground, I would do an in-place void family and cut the roof before I finsh the family. For a void perpindicular to the sloping roof, I would use a face based void family.

Right typhoon .... but I don't like the openings commands. They are very hard to adjust.
