I am new to Revit and am trying to figure out keyed notes. I would like to have a different set of keyed notes for different drawing sheets, but I would like the same set of keyed notes to appear on each type of sheet. For each type of keyed note (floor, ceiling, roof) I would like the numbering to start at #1.

For example, I would like all of my floor plan keyed notes (starting at note #1) to appear on all floor plans, regardless of whether or not they are actually keyed on the plan. This will ensure that floor plan note #12 is the same on all floor plan sheets. However, I do not want to do my keyed notes "by project" because I do not want my roof plan keyed note legend to appear on my floor plan. Instead I would like a new set of keyed notes (starting at note #1) to appear on all of my roof plans.

Anyone have any idea how to make this work? Thanks.

If you only have a #2 pencil, that is all you can draw with no matter what you want.  So it is with software.

Keynotes are thoroughly explained in your HELP and tyhis is directly out of that:>

Numbering Method

By keynote

Determines the keynote value by the value stored in the keynote parameter or selected from the keynote table. This value displays in the keynote as well as filling in the keynote parameter.

By sheet

Numbers keynotes according to their order of creation.

A value for the keynote parameter is still stored if one has been chosen.

A Keynote Legend displays the Keynote Number according to the order it was created instead. No number appears in the tag until the view bearing Keynote Tags is placed on a sheet view.

----------------

I will ADD that keynote number by keynote - number is unique for each keynote and is set in the keynote file.
