I am new to Revit and I am having a hard time getting my elevation tags to appear correctly. Based on annotations and varying scales, I would like to have the elevation tags show at different locations along the face of the building in different views. For example, I would like to have the elevation tag to be towards the middle of a wing (in plan)on one sheet, but would like the elevation tag moved horizontally (in plan) in another view. However, when I move the elevation tag in one view, it moves the tag in the other views as wel, even when the other views are not dependent views. I am using Revit Architecture 2011. Thanks. P.S. I am havinga similar issue for my grid bubbles. I have the same gridlines (and labels) for a primary and secondary design option, but, because the design option makes the building smaller, I would like the grid bubbles moved closer to the building when the building is smaller. However, when I move the grid bubbles in one plan view, it moves them in all other plan views.

You can move the elevation tag anywhere independent of other views - but only pick the tag, not the elevation. Read your HELP on grid lines. There you can read about the differences between 2D grid bubbles and 3D. 2D allowa adjstment that is view specific. 3D affects all views where the bubble is still set to 3D.

Thank you for the help on the grids. However, I'm not sure I understand your instructions on moving the elevation tag. When I select the tag and go to "filter", I get two options: view and elevations. I assume that I should deselect "view". I can then move the tag (aka "elevation" and the view remains in the same location. However, the tag itself still moves in multiple views. If I move the tag in the floor plan, it moves the tag in the roof plan, too.
