Im trying to create a family with a parametric array of void geometry, in order to get the array parameters working correctly it needs to be nested, however when it is loaded into the host family it will not cut the solid geometry. i can't seem to figure out what im doing wrong, can someone help please?

Before you finish any void, you have to define the host that it cuts.  How did you create the void?  Perhaps you should use a face hosted void where the void cuts the host face.

Tried that too, doesnt work.  ive tried a lot of different options like this but just can't make it work. Could it be the case that voids in nested families just do not cut geometry in host families that is not a system family?

What are you trying to cut?

Stopher,

Nested families are capable of cutting geometry within a host family, as long as the nested family is face based.

I believe the standard families (non-face based) will not allow you to cut a host with a nested void.

Try creating your parametric void array as a face based generic model family.
