Anybody noticed that there is a serious error in Revit 2011 Curtain Wall Door Template.  The Center (Left/Right) reference plane is not truly representing the center.  When you create a door family, it looks right in the family environment when you flex it but when you load into the project, you will see it is off center.  Please see attached pdf.  The way I fixed this is starting creating a family in 2011 with the 2010 template, it will upgrade the 2010 version, do nothing and save it as Door – Curtain Wall.rfa.  Then rename the file as rft, now you have a new template upgraded from 2010.

Typhoon,

What version of Revit you are using?  I know you may be using European version.  Mine is 2011 US.  May be there is nothing wrong with European version but I am sure it is not right in the US version.

I just opened the 2011 template and it is correct.  The opening is centered and the ref plane defines the origin.  Someone may have changed your template so change it back.

The problem is when you flex in the family, it looks right but when the door is loaded into the project the center is off. I did a family with just symbolic lines representing the door swings, it is not working.  See attached rvt file.

Your problem is not the template - it is your family.  Door swings are not easy to do.

I tried it with a new template in 2011 Revit Arch and got the same result with in project environment that the swing is off center.

Here you have, i just deleted your model lines, create new ones and locked, and i change too the "Center (front/back)" ref. plane to "defines origin".

Typhoon,

This is what I got by using you "CORRECT" family file.  See how the door is offset in the MODEL RVT file.  Do you believe now?
