I've downloaded some components from revit city (chairs, tables, etc.) and I put them in my project. I would like to set a material and render appearance for them so they look a certain way in rendered views. How can I do this? Thanks for your help

All the components must have a unique material name for each material. That means if you change the appareance in the family , must change in the Proyect. Kinda. Well, its not going to change. You have to change inside the revit proyect. You can do it easier isolating the family ( use the glass icon on the tab where you change the coarse/medium/fine appareance) and hitting render. After you have the look you need, reset the glass thingy. Its very recomendable to load the family to a "Test proyect" instead of your actual proyect.
