If so, are you running into any problems?  How is Windows 7 (64bit) in general?  We're thinking about upgrading to Windows 7 (64bit) Professional because Autodesk recommends it.

  • Microsoft® Windows® 7 64-bit Enterprise, Ultimate, Professional, or Home Premium
  • Quad Core Intel® Xeon® Processor (2.50 GHz, 2X6M L2, 1333) or equivalent AMD processor
  • 8 GB RAM (or more)
  • 1,280 x 1,024 monitor with true color
  • 1 GB (or more) DirectX® 9-capable graphics card with Shader Model 3. Find out more about recommended graphics hardware.

My company has been running Revit on Windows 7 x64 Pro for a while now, and I have not noticed any complications that would be caused by the OS.  Seems to be very stable and runs well on 7.

Hi

I am running on Windows 7 (64 Bit) - had to change to this OS as previously had VISTA and

it was really unstable on that!!  Seems to be running fine on Windows 7.

 Hope this helps.

I'm kind of late to reply to this, but I have a Dell M6500 with a Quad Core 1.83Ghz (Turbo 3.2Ghz) i7 Intel processor running W7-64-bit.  Couldn't be more happy.  It HAS in fact crashed on me, but overall Revit is more stable in this environment, as is Inventor and 3dsMax 2010, 2011.

I can't begin to explain the frustrations I had using Revit on Vista-64 bit.  I tried rotating an object in 3D on it, crash.  Opened it on my W7-64bit, did the same thing, worked fine.  Both have workhorse processors, both have tons of RAM, both have insane graphics cards.  Windows 7 was the only major difference.  Convince yourself or your boss that for an extra $200+ you can upgrade out of Vista!

Windows Vista is like the Pinto of operating systems, you can't put a 64 bit engine in it and expect the whole car from falling apart under the weight
