See into my picture, I want to edit the profile of the roof's fascia which is selected and shown in bule in the picture. I don't know how to edit the profile in the inserted fascia in the project file directly. I knew a method that I can go into the family files which the fascia file lies in, and open it and edit the profile of the fascia which I need in family, and then save as a new family files when finished change. Next step is to open my project file and load into the edited fascia family file. But I think this method is too complicated, is there some method to just edit the profile of the family in the project file directly?

If you are trying to keep the profile rectangular, then the profile family should have some parameters to adjust the width and depth. To make this change, go to the families in the project browser and adjust the parameters as neccesary. If you want a different shape altogether, you'll have to modify the profile family itself, or load a new profile that has the shape that you want into the project.
