I am working on a similar project right now.  What I have done is to model the wall with horizontal reveals since those are uniform/fixed spacing.  The vertical reveals I add in place.

Now the problem.  If you do the above, you will not be able to split face tochange the wall material of the various panels.  In hind-sight, you could probably not include the wall reveals in the wall definition and then you could split the face.  However, you have the problem of the curved walls.  You will not be able to split face there.  So you may have to do something similar to what we did.

Our solution for the colors was to have an overall base color for the wall.  The for the accent color panels, we add an in-place family of the correct size just a fraction in front of the wall.  Nothing you can see in plan.  This is probably best done as a parametric , face-based family with an instance or type based finish.  Place the family once in elevation and copy it to the farious locations and stretch/shrink in place.  The curved panels would have to be a seperate family and probably not face based.
