I have a site plan in AutoCAD which I have already linked into Revit and put on a sheet. I need to do an enlarged plan of the same site plan in the Revit docs. I don't want to resave the AutoCAD site plan as another file in case I modify the orig. and that leaves room for error. I tried making a new CAD file and x-refing the site into it and x-clipping it. When I then link that into Revit, it links but the x-clipping does not work. Is there a way of doing this short of making a whole new AutoCAD file of this Site plan.

Just link the site ACAD file into your Revit project. This time don't check the current view only box. Do a callout of the area you want to enlage and you are done. HTH Tom

Ok, started over like you said but it does not give me the option to uncheck the box for "current view only". It is grayed out and I can't seem to find a way to be able to toggle it. Trisha

Trisha, If you already have teh file linked in, you will need to remove the link in the Manage Links and re-link into all views. Tom

I removed the linked file, saved to central and everything. Technically I have never "checked" the "current view only" box. It has always been grayed out and never an option. How do I get it to become active to uncheck it? Trisha

IN ORDER TO GET "CURRENT VIEW ONLY" ACTIVE, YOU CAN NOT IMPORT INTO A DRAFTING VIEW. TRY USING A FLOOR PLAN VIEW.
