I'd like to learn how to create Revit Families.  Any suggestions?  Take a class, purchase a book for this,.....?

Start by downloading and reading the Imperial or Metric families guide here:  ArchitectureFamiliesImpENU.pdf

when i started back in 03',04'. I started by making copies of families and reverse designing them to see how they worked and went from there. never took a class or read any guides. but everyone is different, so you need to do what is comfortable for you.

WW is right about the families guide. If you do want to invest in a book (about $9), there is a book that you can order from Amazon called "Creating Revit Family Content". It does not go into great detail on complex families, but it does give you a step by step basic instruction about massing and parameters.

Anyone tried this book? http://www.amazon.com/Essentials-Revit-Families-2011-Jolly/dp/1441405585/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1290322138&sr=8-3

There should be a book review on RevitCity

The families guide is just a PDF - no installation required.

If you are talking about the Revit program, follow the instructions on the website.
