I'm trying to insert a sketch up file that I made a massing model family in revit.  When I insert the family I can't find it in the model.  Any suggestions?

thanks!

Did you import that in a "Family" or "Project"? You import that in a "Mass" family? Type VG an check "Mass", also, in a 3D view and in a elevation view type ZA and check if the object appears.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I created a revit mass family for my sketchup model and then imported it as a family.  I see it listed on the left nav bar in the family folder, but it still won't appear in my model.  I tried typing VG and mass it checked to be visible but in that folder it doesn't show my file but lists  Form/Gridlines/Mass Lines/Hidden Lines/Nodes, etc.  It appears that the family was created, I can see it listed under families when I open the program.  Any other suggestions?

thanks,

I want to add that in the project browser under the families menu, then mass menu, I see my sketch up file and if I double click on it I get the properities editor.  If I click preview I can see the sketchup model showing in my revit model, but when I exit the properities editor, it still isnt' visible in the main revit drawing window.

Did you look at this family? I don't think so, look the images, this "family" have almost 1 mile lenght, that's insane, you have all kinds of 2D objects in there...

I was only attempting to import the ramping roof structure.  I didn't realize that the other objects were also imported from the sketch up file.  I am teaching myself this program so there are a lot of things I don't know how to do.  Can I edit the family to remove the unnecessary objects from the sketch up file?  If so, how do I do this?

My advise is: open that file in SKETCHUP, clean all you don't need then import that NEW file to Revit.

Ok.  I will try that, but I still have the problem of the revit family not showing up in my revit model.  Will changing the file size of the sketch up file fix that or is there something else I need to do to make it viewable?  How can I delete the family I already created and inserted into my model?

" but I still have the problem of the revit family not showing up in my revit model.  " - It's not correct, if you look the first image i posted before i insert that "Family" in project, go to a "Elevation view" or a section view and you will see the model.

"How can I delete the family I already created and inserted into my model?" - just select and delete.
