Hello, everyone.

In the previous Revit versions, when you had two or more things dimensioned, if you wanted to change the distance between the two, you could select one of the items, and the dimension would turn blue, indicating it was active. You could simply retype the desired dimension, and viola: the selected item moved to the desired distance. However, in Revit 2011, this doesn't always work. If I have three things dimensioned, if I select one of the objects, sometimes it activates the dimension, and sometimes it won't. Is there some kind of setting I need to check, or is this just a glitch?

I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me with this. Thanks!

-Jason

The problem you are having is usually caused by incorrect dimensioning.  The dimension in question is not to what you think it is.  Edit witness line and check it out.  The 8'11 dimesion is to the corner and not the wall face.

Always remember to check what you are dimensioning to on the lower left corner of your screen and tab to select the correct object.
