I've grown accustomed to Revit's autosave backup feature where I create "Project.rvt", and at the end of day I also have "Project001.rvt", "Project002.rvt", "Project003.rvt", etc. However, that feature seems to have disappeared on my current 2011 Revit project. How do I get it back?

Yes, I did. Is that why it is not working? I do have an automatically created "Backup Folder" with a bunch of tiny junk file inside of it, but I wouldn't know how to access that in an emergency.

There is a restore backup tool in the collaborate tab. It will ask you to find that folder to restore a backup.

this might help a little. http://docs.autodesk.com/REVIT/2010/ENU/Revit%20Architecture%202010%20Users%20Guide/RAC/index.html?url=WS1a9193826455f5ff13cfd6e1136132a36f-726f.htm,topicNumber=d0e105741 rolling back a central file is fairly simple. I tend to archive my current version first by using the "detach from central" option.

Thanks, I just saw the Restore Backup option in the Collaborate/Restore Backup Tab. I was afraid to use it because I didn't want to screw up everybody else's current session of the file. I was just looking for an easy way to archive my own work without impacting the Central file just in case a ceiling gets accidently deleted, etc. Then I can go back and copy and paste fixtures, etc. I suppose this is what you meant by detaching the current version from Central first then rolling back the Restore Backup command, so the command doesn't impact other people's work?

I periodically create a new date named local file. This allows be to have a "backup" in my local directory which I can open detached if I ever need anything from it. The rollback feature works very well. If you use this for the true project file, just make sure that everyone is out of the file and that they then make a new local from your new central. BTW - have you noticed that when you save to central, you have a comment line that you can fill in. You can use this as a marker so that you can determine where you want to roll the project back to.
