I am having issues with window and doors showing up in plan in my doors.  In 3D views the doors appear, but when viewed in plan they disappear.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Need more info.

They could be hidden in the view

They could be above the cut plane.

They could be on a different workset.

They could be on a different phase.

There are many reasons why something will show up in one view and not another. Give some screenshots or a more descriptive issue and we will be glad to help.

Well to start, when I try to insert a door in plan I get an error message that reads:  Instance(s) of 72" x 84" not cutting anything.

I have tried looking at the properties to see if the doors are hidden, but they are not.  Does this info help?

Nevermind James.  Thanks for your help and responding so quickly.  I realized my cutting plane was off.  Thanks anyways!

When you receive this message it mean that you are trying to place a door completely outside of its host wall therefore the opening can't "cut" any host.

Your wall isn't there in that view....  Make sure the host wall is there and the work plane you are on is at the correct level.

Also check the insertion point of the door family.
