We're using REVIT 2011 on Windows 7. There are design options on the project that we'd been working with for a few days. All of the sudden, since yesterday, when we click on the Design Option, the window doesn't pop up, and everything else is greyed out. I suspect the window is hidden somewhere, but I cannot find it or bring it back up. I had similar problem with group toolbar, but I know how to bring it back by going to View -> User Interface ->check and uncheck 'Recent files'. But this doesnt work for bringing back the Design Option Window. I searched for answer but have seen this problem nowhere.

For the group issue I've found that while everything is grayed out, start a new project, start a new group in the new project and then switch windows back to the other project and the group window will be back. Same thing may apply to Design Options? Not sure cause I haven't had a chance to use them yet in 2011. You're saying that clicking the Design Options tool below the canvas doesn't bring up a window?

Check your VG settings. It sounds like your view is set to a specific DO and not automatic. We prefer to setup views based on DO's (in essence lock them) but our model working views are set to be automatic and they will switch according to what DO you are currently editing.
