Yo,

Please could somebody provide a solution to our lighting issue, We are using 2011 Revit Architecture and we are trying to produce internal lighting renders but are receiving black "voids" at approximately where our roof level. The roof space is an open void with drop down pendants. It is almost as if there is a surface preventing us from viewing into the void, however, on an internal sun only render, we see the roof void clearly.

I have seen this before and it still baffles me.  I believe it actually has something to do with the lights you are using.  Try placing a few studio lights (the ones with no geometry above the other lights and see if anything happens.  If nothing, try using a different light for the pendants. 

Just verifying, you are not getting a "material missing" message in your render dialog, correct?
