I've got my areas for my occupant load plan, and a schedule - but I cannot get the "calculated value" thing to work so that it works like and XL spreadsheet.  I want to divide "square feet" by a factor, and get a number of people.  I get error messages about inconsistent units, and incorrect boolean operations.  I've looked at the other threads I could find, but have not found anything that says what my likely mistake is.  I've tried putting "Area/Factor" into the formula box, but that is not working.

On some of threads I looked at for help I can not download the image attached to the post - just getting a little yellow smile face but no download.

I'm using Revit 2011.

Please read your HELP on units and formula.  Another thing you should always try is a search of the forums.  In this case using the term "inconsistent units" would find this post from Mr Spot:

"....Okay the confusion comes because cost is a number and area is m. Therefore when you create a calculated value for total cost you select number... Now revit is looking for a number yet your units when for instance going cost*area is m.... Try this cost*(Area/1) This will effectively remove the units from the value...."

That answer should point you in the right direction to solve your problem.
