I receive pdf raster civil images. I would like to use the image as a super imposed back groud for the adjacent site. How do you get the image to a scale. Back in the day when i used autocad I would find a dimension in the image and scale it accordingly. Also i am wiping out the back backgroud in photoshop and saving as a TIF (raster image). Is there a way to get this to vector image so all of the lines can be picked and the image removed for file size?

Once you place the image, you can use the scale tool to resize the image the way you would in autocad. You will need to know a dimension and use it as a reference for the scale. Unfortunately you will not be able to pick lines in vector images, in fact I'm not even sure you'll be able to import vector images although I have not tried. However, just saving a file as TIF in vector format doesn't make the lines vector unless you plan on running it through a converter. HTH

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |
