I appreciate all the suggestions regarding the use of scope boxes to manage various elements.  It works well.  However I would like to be able to set a specific size to the scope box and thus the crop region associated with it.  Is this possible?

The reason is that I want the ability to control the crop regions for all the partial plans (floor, rcp, finish, etc).   I have found that a crop region 750mm x 500mm suits my title block. The scope box supports the management of the crop boxes, but I can only eye-ball the scope box size ... this isn't an ideal scenario for an entire office.

Scope boxes are a model element and are dimensioned as thus.  You will not be able to set scope boxes to an annotative size without using guides of some sort (not to mention this will change if you change your scale)  With that being said you ca set up either reference planes on your sheet or a grid template (if you're using 2011).

No offense meant but I'm not sure what you're on about not being ideal for an entire office.  Our office just produced a 200 sheet Architecture set just fine without being able to pre set our scope boxes and crop regions.  I agree this would be a neat little feature, but you'll find as you do more BIM projects that you don't always want these crop regions to be the same size.

thank you for your response.

I didn't think that I could control the scope box size explicitely.  But when I found that I could send the crop box to a specific site, relative to the sheet ... I was hoping that the  same might exist for the scope box.

The reason that i would like this feature is that with 10 yrs as a CAD manager, I've found that when the user is given a choice ... they often spend too much time thinking about it.  I'd prefer to preset what ever I can to eliminate such time being wasted and efforts being duplicated.  But that's just my approach.

thanks again.Ian

Honestly, I think the view/sheet system needs to be revisited and completely revamped for reasons much like this.  There's a wave of change in document sets in the air and this whole system will be antiquated relatively soon if you ask for my opinion.

Best of luck!
