Hey there,

I've been trying to 'build' a cornice with dental details etc and have been battling a little. So far my process has been as follows:

1) Draw the profile of the cornice and create a sweep.

2) Open an existing 'wall mounted' family and build a solid (used a plumbing fixture in the end)

3) Then loaded the family into the project and created an array using the component to spread along the wall sweep.

This has all worked well but I would like to understand how I can refine my model further. Currently the solid forms I've used to detail the solid are all with sharp edges etc - see images - any help to bevel edges etc would be hugely appreciated  - thanks heaps!

My comments would be

2:  Why plumbing????  Doesn't make sense.  You could do this using the wall hosted template or just a face hosted template (category wall).

To soften the edges of the solids, you could add void sweeps in the family, picking the edges of the solid.   BUT - I caution you against that.  What do you really need to accomplish?  Over modeling will really balloon the project and slow you down.
