Hi! I have just started a new job and have to teach myself Revit from scratch. I am used to AutoCad Architecture 2010 which I have been using for a while, but now I have to learn Revit Architecture 2010! I need to create a non-planar beam that is also trimmed at an angle at both ends (so only 2 of the 6 sides are parallel). I have found out that I should use component>model in-place>structural framing>solid>blend; but that's as far as I have got! In autocad I would just change the UCS and draw two the two ends and then sweep between the two. Is there a way to do this in Revit? Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Don't think in Autocad, think in REVIT, show us an image like you want your beam and somebody here will show you how to do it. You have several tools to create everything, Extrusions, Revolve, Blend, Sweep, Swept blend, if you want to just "trim" that beam at an angle you only need to create a ref. plane in the proper view (elevation, section...) and cut the beam. Don't think like Autocad, learn REVIT

I have solved it now, took me a couple of hours but I got there in the end. It's not my intention to try and find an AutoCAD type solution to all my problems, as I realise that they are completely different packages; I just wondered if there was any overlap on in this instance. Thanks
