I am a construction scheduler working on a Program Management project in Cleveland, OH.  I have been working as a scheduler for the past 10 years and want to change careers and get involved with Building Information Modelling.  The problem is that I don't have access to Revit Architecture in order to learn it and I don't work for an architect which makes it difficult for me to be in practice.

That said, wondering if someone could direct me on how to get started in the industry.

One place to network is NeoRUG - Northeast Ohio Revit Users Group.  We meet monthly - usually in Cleveland.  You can find more about the group on LinkedIn http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=3052693

You should look into at least down-loading the program and working with it.  Training is another issue but either you need a copy of Revit or need to have formal training at a place like Imaginit.  They are local to you.

Revit is free to download and try (ie learn on). The only thing is that you can't save files. But it's great to have access to the full program, for learning purposes.

Regards,

Ian
