Does anyone know how to set up a family or tag or something so that auto numbers my sheets and knows how many total sheets there are. I want it to say Sheet 'X' of 'total number of sheets'.

this is one i'd like to know how to do as well! i suspect a schedule can do something similar, but it would be nice to have an individual count plus total sheets on each drawing. any ideas greatly appreciated.

This may be helpful: you can create a "drawing list": pull down view/new/drawing list. Place it on the cover sheet of the drawing set. Also, in the project navigator bar, right clik on the sheet names and check or uncheck "appears in drawing list" so all drawings you make don't need to be listed (sketches, etc). This way you have a complete list and count of the drawings in the set, that us how we fill the same need to describe a complete set.

open the title block in the family editor, add a shared prameter called "sheet place" or whatever you want to call "xx" in this set "sheet 00 of xx". save and load to project. the parameter should be visible at the project information tab in the settings menu and also directly editable within the title block itself (it should appear in blue when the titleblock is highlighted) Edited on: Tue, Oct 30, 2007 at 11:54:53 AMEdited on: Tue, Oct 30, 2007 at 11:56:08 AM
