I have revit 2011 and i am having trouble trying to load the structural trusses everytime. these are my steps 1) component 2) load family 3) strucural trusses. and then a little window pops up that says, cannot load family files some or all of the family files you selected cannot be loaded. you must choose family files of the category component. i can't even open the trusses that i downloaded from revit i don't have any trouble opening any other components except these please help!!

That message usually means you are trying to load a family that is not of the category of the tool you are in. Try opening the Structural Tab and click on Truss. From there load your truss family and it should let you place it.

You can also go to the Insert tab and use that Load Family tool. That one doesn't care what you are trying to load.
