In my roof plan view, the standing seam metal roof hatch is not showing up. The hatch is part of the roof structure, it is a modeling hatch that is just vertical lines spaced 12" apart. It shows up in a 3D view correctly, and all roof check boxes in VG are on. I can't figure it out. Usually I want to turn off a roof hatch in the roof plan view, and I would do that in the override graphics dialog box. The check box next to "visible" under surface patterns is on, so I don't know why I'm not seeing it. Please help! And thank you in advance.

Turning anything off "by element" is never good practice.  To turn off all roof hatches use the visibility/graphics dialog and in the surface pattern column of roofs click and uncheck "visible" here.  This then applies to all roofs in the view.

If you require to apply to only some roofs then use filters and then control the visibility of the filter.  This way this could be included as part of a view template and essentially be a 2 click process to setup your roof plans.

But if you have hidden by element, select your roof, goto override by element, and then recheck visible.  If not, then most likely its been hidden using the visibility/graphics.

If that isn't it, it could be a phase filter overriding the material...

HTH.
