when a mass family is corrupted (it refused to be reloaded into the project any more), is there anything I can do to fix this family like what we purge and audit in CAD before?

You can both "purge" and audit in revit.  You can read about audit in your HELP.  You can "purge" your file of unused families but the command is not purge - (I don't have revit here).  For single instance removal - just find the family in your browser and delete it from there.

If you have a valid backup file, you can find your mass there and copy paste it into your project.
