I'd like my plans and details to always show the outer most (visible) surface as a bold line, and all other interior linework a light line type.   For example a masonry wall with furring and gyp brd on either side shown in plan should have the two outer most lines representing the painted side of gyp brd should be line weight 6.  All other surfaces (interior non painted gyp brd, and both sides of masonry core), and material hatching,  should be line weight 2.

I have been able to find a setting to control line weight based on weather an item is cut, or in a projected element.  But using this in the assembly above creates 6 lines of line weight 6.  Way to much ink on the printed sheet.

I also know how to individually control, over ride, line weight on each view. But this is too time intensive.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In the object styles dialog, scroll down to walls. Expand the node and change the "common edges" to whatever lineweight you need. This will make all the lines between the two outside edges the desired lineweight.
