I am trying to create a room schedule that sorts rooms by level, then by number.  I would like it to list room area and give a total area after each floor.  Could anyone help me out on this?

These are pretty basic questions and you should find the answer in the revit help F1.

I already searched through the Revit help, thus I've come here.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I couldn't get my schedule to replicate the images in the Revit help.  If these are basic questions, it shouldn't take much more effort to help me out than to tell me to look elsewhere.

got to view and create a schedule,

select the family type (rooms)

add the parameters you want to add to your schedule at the fields tab,

'Sorting tab': sort by level add footer to calulate totals

then by room 'name'

then by 'room number'

 In the 'formating tab'

in the fields  select  'area'

and select the' calculate totals on the right.
