My consulting MEP Engineers are complaining about my exported .dwg files. The issue is that when Revit converts to a .dwg it breaks the lines of a wall into several lines that are not continuous and sometimes lines are on top of lines, etc. Their biggest grip is that when they try to use snaps they never know where it's going to pick, usually not where they wanted. Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere to resolve this. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Post edited on 2005-10-19 10:46:53

Hi Tracy, Try checking your export options, and make sure "Merge collinear wall lines" is ticked. Also check the layer settings and load one of the defauls, the "exportlayers-dwg-ISO13567.txt" works well for us. I hope this helps Regards Antfa

If you are still having issues you can use the overkill command in autocad to remove overlapping lines and link adjacent lines etc...

What version of Revit are you using? Revit 8.1 had some things changed to give much better exports of DWG, including the ability to remove 'colinear' lines. Be sure to upgrade if you are suing anything less than 8.1.
