So I'm going to make a Parametric Window with all different kind of setups, I haven't gotten very far but I've come to a problem. Please download the file and take a look.

I'm trying to make the Windowframe changeable, and if you try to mark it and change in "component" it works fine.

But I would like to be able to do this in a project too!

Thats why, if you press Properties, I've tried to add under construction a drop-down list where i can choose between the two frames. Although, when changing between them in the properties, nothing happens, and that is my problem.

Can anyone notice what I've done wrong? I'm quite a newbie and I've just learned adding more advanced properties than measurements.

Kindest regards

Hey, you window looks fine, but incomplete. I dont know if this is what you need, but here it goes anyway

-The "window" you want to use on the opening was a nested family. You must use a shared parameter to edit that parameters, since it was a simple extrusion its better to do it in the family itself.

-I add that same extrusion, check where i use the "lock" feature (the padlock)so its dependent to the width/height that its already on the family, and inside the extrusion where i add the "Smygdjup","Karmdjup", or any of that ( i dont knw that language) so you can model what you really need.

-You need to make that extrusions on "exterior" or interior views, so its hosted on a front/back reference plane.

bengtm:

This is nesting families. Nest both families and make them visible based on the parameter under element properties.

Ah, I think I solved it now by setting "Karmtyp" (frametype) under Label in the Properties bar.
