We organize our Cad files by first creating a base floor plan and then xref'ing that plan into a new cad file to add details, notes, callouts ect. When I try to link the Cad file it only shows the details and not the xref'd plan. Is there any way to have it show the xref without haveing to explode the cad file so that all elements exist within one file? Thanks in advance!

It is probably a path issue. You could bind the xref before inserting. I realize that this kind of defeats the purpose of using a "linked" cad file. You could also try to resolve the path issue on the cad files.

Thanks for the reply. I'm almost positive the paths are fine, but I'll double check just to make sure. I guess what I was really trying to determine was that it is possible and I'm not trying to fix something that technically isn't broke.

Another thing to check is if the xrefs are set to Attachment or Overlay.
