I am having an issue trying to laod a family into a project. It seems that it won't let me add it since the refelected ceiling plan is linked in. Is there an easy fix for this? I appreciate any help I can get.

The linked plan should not affect this.... Perhaps if you gave us more information.  The image doesn't tell us anything.

When I try a load the family into the project it won't aloow me to add a Fire Alarm Ceiling Mounted speaker onto the  Refelcted Ceiling Plan. The Reflected Ceiling Plan is linked in to the project. I have tried the family part on other projects and it works fine, except with this one linked in Reflected Ceiling Plan.

If the ceilings reside in a linked file you cannot place a ceiling hosted family onto them...for the simple reason that if it is ceiling hosted...the ceilings MUST reside inside the file.

The option here would be to make the fire alarm family face based, not ceiling hosted

Be careful, If you are adding a recessed light that you want to use for rendering purposes, it can not cut a ceiling that is not in your project.  And therefore, the light might be blocked by the ceiling.

This ceiling issue is a problem that needs to be addressed by autodesk.
