Hey everyone...been learning revit for a few months now.

I have my foundation plan, and it only shows the the footing.  I am wanting to show my CMU walls cut along with footing.  What do I need to change to be able to see the cmu along with my footing on the foundation plan?

Thanks!

You need to set your view cut plane so that it cuts the walls and walls have to be on in VG for the view in question.

Fully understanding how view range works is critical for you to advance your REVIT skills and it's not simple.

Search, study and experiement with it.

The help menu has a pretty good explanation of this one. Within the plan view itself click the edit button beside the View Range property. Then in that dialog box click the Help button.

View range also has a few 'exceptions' that do not follow the regular rules such as 'windows and doors' 'casework' and 'specialty equipment' and then there are reflected ceiling plans which actually flip the view range around the other way.

When you 'cut' the object the cut pattern is controlled by object styles, materials and visibility graphics overrides.

Get to know it !!

thanks for the replies.  I figured it had something to do with the view range.  I attached a jpg of what the settings are.  It almost seems like the wall are turned off...but when I look for hidden items...they are not there.
