Hello everyone,

I am using a different approach to HVAC and have run into a problem.  The approach has to do with drawing ducts by Type Name, that is, if I want to draw a supply duct, I go to PROPERTIES ---> EDIT/NEW ---> DUPLICATE, then rename the copy as "S/A".  This way no systems are required, thus drafting is much quicker.  I realize this defeats the purpose for Revit, but I believe that is temporary, as future versions will probably make a whole job run much quicker on the computer.

For now, this is the approach that works best for me.  But my supply air duct rise does not show the "cross" symbol to denote "duct up".  I noticed it looks for the "System Type" parameter to be defined by the equipment it is connected to.  

So the question is, is there a way to force a definition on the "System Type" parameter for the "Type Name" of duct I am drawing?
