Is there a good way to get imported CAD linework (set at z=0) to overlay on the toposurface? Either it is partially buried in the land or it is sitting high above, floating in the air. I would like it to follow the contours so that it is all visible at once and not floating.

I am working in 2011.

Thanks!

The CAD linework is 2D.... it is on a plane above, below or wherever you place the dwg.  It is 2D so there is no way for it to drape over your surface.

Not sure if this helps but you can do a graphics override in the view and make the toposurface 'transparent'.

That way you CAD linework won't get barried or hidden by the topo ? Worth trying I suppose.
