Has anyone read this big news?
Huge !
Apparently the two largest Autodesk resellers Imaginit (owned by a private company RAND World Wide) and Avatech (public company) have merge and plans to become one public company that will trade under the ticket OTC.
Should be interesting as this plays out. They will have a stronghold on the Autodesk reseller market.
It is also predicted that heads will roll at Avatech. Funny how that works . . . . . do a great job, get bought out and then loose your job?

Well when you have the market cornered the consumers rarely get the benifit. . . . . they will have huge buying power from Autodesk to start with which means their purchase price will probably be negotiated 'down' and margin will go up and as far a us consumers go well . . . . . they probably have no plans to pass that savings on to us. Just my opinion. It will be a public company so they have a commitment to their new share holders first and foremost (trading as OTC).
My experience is when mergers happen the consummer almost always suffers through customer service and price hikes.
Then there are the 'other' resellers who have less buying power from autodesk and therefore much smaller margins yet competing for the same customers. Not really a 'fair' playing field right.
Ya, very interested to see how this plays out.
