Hi,

When I draw a stair in Revit 2011, it appears with a railing each side.

Where is the type of this default railing set? I cannot see any settings in the stair type properties dialog box.

Cheers.

"When I draw a stair in Revit 2011, it appears with a railing each side." - By default when you create a stair appear those railings unless when you are in sketch mode of that stairs on top/right menu you will see the Railings where you can select None or select a couple of more but you can duplicate one of them and change the properties and use it like you want, after you created your stairs, you can select the railing, go to properties and change it if you want/need.

In project browser expand the "Families" you will see "Railings", "balusters" ....

Also something to keep in mind.

'Default railing' is actually dynamic. It is simply the LAST railing you created by using the 'railing' tool all by itself.

So to change the 'default' railing just start the railing tool, create a railing on it's own with the type you want, then delete the railing and now you have set that railing to the 'default' railing. Weird but true.
