I have layed out my drawings and have my building divided into two areas (A & B).  I have made the Area-A and Area-B views dependent of the floor plans.  The ides of this is so that I can annoteate the parent drawing and have it populate on my child view, right?

Everything seems to work okay except for may dimensions.  If the dimension spans across the crop region, it will not show up.  Is there a setting for this or anything?  How do I show the dimension across the match line, or a whole building dimension?

Greg

In order for a dimension to show in any view, both endpoints that are dimensioned to must be in that view.

You do know about splitting views?

Dependent views are great but you must understand how they work.  You could add a dimension to a line with amended text that might say "Building Overall - xx'-xx" .....but that line would have to be in this view..

Dependant views have two crop regions. A model crop region (solid) and an annotation crop region (dashed). Just expand the annotation crop region to include the dimensions in question.

Daryl, I don't think that will work.  The problem with that will be the dimesion text could be well outside where he wants his view and if you pull it back into one view, it will be out of the other.
