I have placed carpeting on my floor and it renders fine when I render from the 3D view. When I place a camera and render from there my carpet is missing. Any help would be appreciated.

The only reason this could happen is if that carpet is turned off in your perspective view... Is it located in a workset that by default is off in all views?

I can't seem to find anything that could be wrong. The view is on in the workset.... Where do I check to see if the material is "turned on"? Thanks

I was referring to worksets with regards to the carpet. For instance we often have a workset for "floor finishes" that can be turned off when desired. The workset can also be setup to be hidden by default in all new views. This is the only thing i can think of that would cause this behaviour (short of investigating the file myself)? There should be no differences between the materials from one view to another as they are universal...??

I'm having the same problem. It seems to be happening with any jpg of any image that didn't come preloaded with the software. It was bad in the 2010 version. It's worse in the 2011. It totally omits whole rooms of carpets and such no matter where I place the sample jpg. Instead, in the rendering, I get alot of black carpet and tiles and such. And, if I try to redirect the progam back to the location, it totally crashes. Is this just a student version problem, or is it that my prossessor or video card isn't up to the task?
