Trying to clip the gable side of a roof so that it starts it's slope a few feet above the plate ht. resembling a dog leg fascia. It seems to be hit or miss. Some days it works without a snag and others, it can't create the roof. My procedure is to split the gable side into 3 segments with a slope only on the middle one and set its plate offset a few feet above the default. No need to align eaves as the sloped boundary lines don't touch. Is there a process that I just luck out on sometimes that I'm not aware? I usually pick walls to set the boundaries but have tried pick lines also. I'm using 2010.
