In the wall properties you can unlock layers from aligning with each other. Edit the wall, edit its structure. Turn on the preview and switch it to section view. Select the bottom edge of the layer you wish to extend. Unlock it. Okay out of editing the wall. Select a wall in plan and go to its properties, you notice there is now a field available for bottom extension distance. Change this as required and there you go...

You need to go into the wall properties - Edit - Modify, Set the preview to Section, zoom in and select the bottom line of the finish layers you want to extend and unlock them. Then in the main properties dialogue box set the base extension parameter accordingly. You can also select and adjust the extension graphically in a section view. This methods applies to the top extension also.

I have done all of the above up to the point where you unlock the edge of the layer, but i keep getting this error message when i press ok.

"Cannot extend layer(s) of highlighted vertically compound wall"

anyone has any idea why i cant do it?

p.s : I am using RAC2008
