Greetings ...

I am trying to generate a Toposurface using the "Select Import Instance" command.  In METRIC ...

  • My Revit environment is based on the Metric template supplied with Revit 2011. Units are set to millimeters ...
  • the CAD file is in metric units w/ millimeters set as the Units.

When I create the toposurface, the points are not at the correct elevation.  The CAD file has the contour lines at 516 but Revit generates the topo at 516000.

I know that this is a meter vs. millimeter issue so I reset the units (CAD file) to "meters" but I got the exact same result.

  • I've imported the CAD file with the units set to meters and then millimeters
  • If someone can offer help, I'd be truly grateful.

    Ian

"I know that this is a meter vs. millimeter issue so I reset the units (CAD file) to "meters" but I got the exact same result. " - And in your Revit project did you cange your units to METERS too?

thanks for your interest.  I did change the Revit file to import in meters ... but the cad file came in 1/1000 scale.I also changed the Revit file environment to meters but then the existing information (walls, level marks) also changed.

Perhaps I need to import the site into a brand new model then set up the levels and re-add the walls ...?
