I am working on a large project for a client that has very specific CAD standards.    Part of these standards require us to use Simplex for all of our fonts.

Our office uses Revit so we have been working to match their requirements.  Unfortunately, whenever I use Simplex in Revit (2011) it prints out very light as if it is half tone.  This is the case even if it is set to bold.  Attached is an image of a notes sheet printed in both Revit and CAD;  note the greyed out appearance of the Revit text even though it is set to bold.

The end result is that the plots are unacceptable due to this font issue.  It looks as though we will have to export everything back to AutoCAD and try to remember how to do things in the stone age.

Has anyone else run into this problem and found a solution?  I asked the Revit tech support and they did not know how to help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreticated.

The problem is the differential of SHX to TTF.  SHX fonts in CAD are plotted by pen weights.  TTF fonts in Revit are plotted according to their TTF definition.  I don't see any way around this if Simplex is a must.  Most Revit users have switched to something like Ariel.
