I am wondering whether or not anyone has hit the ceiling in terms of file size.  Our project in hovering around 150mb and we are only in DD.  Its a 150sf building so we are a bit concerned of the file size jump we will endure when moving to CDs.  I know this is somewhat of a hardware issue but I am just wondering if anyone has seen the edge and could share some advice/insight.  I should also mention that we are Purging, Auditing, and streamling our model, as much as possible.

Thanks!

Well ... we have a 259 meg project + linked struct / MEP and site files that was created in 8 and still active.  We did this with 32 bit machines / 4 GB.  It is a pain if you need all the worksets on.  We did not upgrade this because we could not with our machines.

We switched to 64/8 which helped responsiveness but I was definately nervous about the 200mb threshold.  When I was doing the renderings (3ds), things got a bit unstable at the 203 mark so Hearing that that your at 259 and still cruising is comforting.  Thank you for your response.

We had a large project that was close to 300mb and was worked on over our intranet. In my opinion, this might be the limit. The file was incredibly slow. We ended up slipping the model into several ‘sector’ models that we worked on, and developed all of our sheets in the ‘composite’ model. Oh, we were using Revit 2010.
