I want the area under the stair to be one room and the stair to be another.

Unfortunately, separation lines aren't available in section.  I want the room under the stair to be separated from the stair above.  See image.

Build a sloped ceiling for the underside of the stairs and make it room bounding.

There must be some setting that I have missed.  I have created the sloped ceiling under the stair.  Made sure it is room bounding and the ceiling fills the space between the walls.  I have made sure the walls and floor are room bounding.  I put the room in and it fills the entire stair well under and above the stair.  The sloped ceiling being room bounding does not seem to have any effect.

 Any suggestions?
