Hi,

Whats the difference between Width and Rough Width in Windows and Doors (you also get Rough Height?).

Cheers.

Get out to the job site!  Rough opening is the opening in a wall in both Revit and the real world.  The window fits inside this and the widow trim may be inside or overlap this. The RO defines the opening cut.

Further to what WW says. R.O. is the framed opeing that allows a door or window to fit and then be 'shimmed' into the R.O. See image.

Thanks for that.

I've been on loads of sites and never called it that! Is it an American term?

Actually thinking about this we would probably call rough opening - Structural Opening...
