This may sound trivial, but it's frustrating me, and wasting time in the long run --

When I attempt to stretch a view to fill the screen, or reposition it, the outline of the view switches to a dashed grey line projecting its future postion, like normal, like you'd expect... problem is, it's the exact same shade of grey used for the background of revit, so, the position of my windows is guesswork, and trial and error, and a matter of muscle memory and mouse expertise.  (which I guess I don't have.)

SO.  Did they change the background of revit in 2011..?  I don't remember ever having this issue in 2008-'09-10.  Is there a way to get some contrast with the background...?  The light and dark "themes" only affected the bars.

In case I sound like a blithering idiot, here's a SS.

I am somewhat confused of what it is you are trying to achieve...

why not maximize the window if you want it to fill the screen??

you can change the background of your view by going to options--> graphics tab and ticking invert background

Not the background of the view, the background of the program.   Sadly, with dual screens, I am unable to maximize the view or else it fills both of the screens, and I would be unable to have two views open at once.  Which I find is pretty critical.  So I often have to resize views to fit one screen--which is typically a breeze, but the moving/stretching border of the view is the exact same shade of grade as the background of the program.   the screenshot shows the invisible nature of this movement...

I know this sounds trivial, but  5-10 seconds of fussing to get a view well-situated on my screen adds up over the days/months.

Hello,

i dont have this problem in 2010, when i move view it moves whole view as i move it ... it doesnt do any future lines. Im using Windows Vista,

Maybe this would be problem of your Operation System, it seems that you have Win7 looks like old Win98 template. This seem not to be problem of Revit at all.

Hahaha, xzavoral, you're right!!  I had changed my theme in windows 7 to "windows classic."  Now that I've changed it back, the window borders have some contrast against the background Puh  thanks
