Hello all,

I am using REVIT 2010 and have created several custom materials in the material library that reflect real materials (Ie. All Asphalt Shingle colours from IKO). Each different material is called up with a different name, and I have downloaded all the images (jpeg) from the website, which are saved in the same location as the default REVIT materials. I assigned the material to the appropriate family in revit and it renders correctly. As soon as I make any changes to other materials within the same project, the previously selected material renders black and and states invalid image file location?!? I then reselect the image file location, apply and exit. After re-rendering the same thing happens, only to a different material. Its almost like REVIT only remembers the most recent image file paths I select and cannot remember the paths previously selected. This is obviously frustrating and we can't render anything now without there being solid black items. How do I permanently link the path to my custom made materials for rendering?

Just create a new folder then put your new textures (images) in that folder, go to "options" in revit and Add in Rendering a new path like you can see in the image below...

Thats the menu I was looking for! But the option setting menu is not available from the Revit Pull down symbol at the top left corner of my screen? I'm not sure where it went but is there an alternate way to open that menu?
