Hi there,

I am trying to save a group through the Link button. So far no problems. Its saved the group in a new rvt file. The only problem is that is a blanc revit file. There is nothing from our company template.

I checked the settings for default locations etc, but no problem there.

It seems that revit doesnt use the default template when i save a group like this...

 Anyone got an idea?

PS. I am using a student version, but we also got normal licences.

 Tnx

So what's the problem?  If you want a rft file made from your template with this group in it, start a new file, use your template and place this group in it.

I tried that and that works, but then i have to manually add a revit link and replace the group with the revit file i just created.

With the group option Link revit creates the new file and links in automatically on the groups location (and ofcourse replacing the group for the revit file).

the problem is when i use this procedure the new created revit file is complete blanc. No template layout etc from our own template. Then i have to add all kinds of setting from our own template and this takes time. It would be great if the new created revit file automatically has our template layout

 Tnx
